The beginning of a new year always seems to bring a wave of nostalgia for times past.  Herewith, a backward glance at fifty years ago.

In 1961:

     The U.S. population was 183,691,481
     Life expectancy was 70.2 years
     Average yearly income was $5,735
     Federal Minimum Wage was $1.10
     -----------------------------------
     The Chevy Impala was the most popular U.S. made car at $5,380.

HEALTHY VEGGIE RECIPES


If you keep only one resolution this year, make it this one. Eat more vegetables. Yes, Mom was right. Your body is crying out for the healthy nutrition packed into each brightly colored plant. If you're not a veggie lover, perhaps it's because your idea of cooking them is confined to a frozen package in the microwave, or boiling the life out of them in too much water.
